Football Recap: Spencer Comes Up Short at Home Against Carver

Spencer unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Carver Tigers and fell 48-0. The Greenwave have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Carver had a senior duo take command as Kelston Tarver rushed for 120 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.5 yards per carry and Jakobe Caslin gained 123 total yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Keimaurii Miles, who picked up 78 receiving yards and two TDs.

The win (which was Carver's 15th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Spencer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-7 loss against Lovett on the 29th. As for Carver, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 63-0 victory against Harris County on the 29th.
