Baseball Game Preview: Muncie Central Bearcats vs. Shenandoah Raiders

The Muncie Central Bearcats will head out to face off against the Shenandoah Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Muncie Central has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Shenandoah will come in with seven straight wins.

Muncie Central lost 23-4 to Jay County on Monday.

Logan Campbell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. Rodney Dabney also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Shenandoah and Anderson meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Raiders were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Indians. Considering the Raiders have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Drew Fredenburg was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Fredenburg was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Collin Osenbaugh, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Brandan Conyers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Shenandoah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anderson only posted an OBP of .312.

Muncie Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Shenandoah, their record is now 14-3.
