Softball Game Preview: Arnold Marlins vs. Walton Braves

The Arnold Marlins will challenge the Walton Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arnold's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Walton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Arnold's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bozeman as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Marlins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Bre Clark, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Bozeman off the board.

At the plate, Lily Cobb was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Taylor, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Arnold hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Walton won against Freeport on Monday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Braves beat Choctawhatchee by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-1. The victory was nothing new for the Braves as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Alayah Dalton, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.

Arnold pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Walton, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
