Soccer Recap: Jacksonville Comes Up Short

Jacksonville was the 2-1 winner over Lincoln when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Jacksonville Golden Eagles fell just short of the Lincoln Golden Bears by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Golden Bears are ranked 34th).

Jacksonville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. The win (which was Lincoln's tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1-1.

Jacksonville didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 loss against Westbrook Christian on the 18th. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Shades Valley on the 18th.
