Basketball Recap: Northeast Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brynn Jones and Starr Munford

Northeast played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Severna Park Falcons, falling 47-24. The Eagles have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Northeast had strong showings from Starr Munford, who posted nine points and eight boards, and Brynn Jones, who earned seven points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Jones has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 29 times she's played.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Severna Park, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Coming up, Northeast will square off against Arundel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northeast is facing Arundel at the right time seeing as Arundel is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for Severna Park, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Allegany at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Allegany will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Severna Park surely won't give up without a fight.
