Volleyball Game Preview: West Wilkes Blackhawks vs. North Wilkes Vikings

The West Wilkes Blackhawks will head out on the road to take on the North Wilkes Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

West Wilkes came up short against Ashe County on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Blackhawks have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While West Wilkes was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-10, 25-21.

Meanwhile, North Wilkes had already won 11 in a row and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

North Wilkes was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-16.

North Wilkes' win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for West Wilkes, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

West Wilkes couldn't quite get it done against North Wilkes when the teams last played back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Blackhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
