Volleyball Recap: Melissa Cardinals vs. West Plains Wolves
Melissa saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the West Plains Wolves. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Duura Kpea paced Melissa's offense, picking up five kills. Kpea got some help from Presley Williford and her nine assists.
West Plains found their leader in sophomore Idaly Sotelo, who had 12 digs and five assists. Sotelo has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last nine times she's played.
Melissa's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for West Plains, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-7.
Melissa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Glen Rose on the 22nd. As for West Plains, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Eastern Hills on the 22nd.
