Baseball Recap: Hinkley Comes Up Short

Hinkley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They fell 9-6 to the Englewood Pirates.

Nace Lovoto Rotolo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Quijada, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Hinkley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Englewood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hinkley will challenge Prospect Ridge Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Englewood, they will take on Jefferson Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
