Softball Recap: Reading Takes a Loss

Reading was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Daniel Boone Blazers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Red KNights have suffered since April 17, 2025.

Reading saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadalyn Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Reading's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Daniel Boone, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Reading is set to take on their familiar foe Muhlenberg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Daniel Boone will face off against rival Exeter Township at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
