New Albany had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Fairfield Christian Academy on Saturday. The Eagles blew past the Knights 8-2. Considering the Eagles have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

New Albany has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

Coming up, New Albany will head out on the road to face off against Westerville Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warhawks will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Millersport at 5:15 p.m. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.6 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
