After a string of five wins, Lena-Winslow's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Durand Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
While Lena-Winslow ultimately came up short, they really made Durand work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-8.
Mia Diffenderfer paced Lena-Winslow's offense, picking up six kills. Diffenderfer got some help from Emily Goebel and her 13 assists.
Lena-Winslow's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Durand, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.
