Basketball Game Preview: Elk Grove Grenadiers vs. Fremd Vikings

Elk Grove is 0-8 against Fremd since November of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The Elk Grove Grenadiers will venture away from home to square off against the Fremd Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Elk Grove is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They lost to Dixon on the road by a 65-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Grenadiers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Dukes & Duchesses are ranked 178th).

Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins, Fremd's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 72-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barrington.

Elk Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Fremd, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-2.

Elk Grove took a serious blow against Fremd in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 65-32. Can Elk Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
