Football Recap: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Aspen Skiers
Moffat County had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it eight. They took a blow against the Aspen Skiers, falling 47-14. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.
As for Aspen, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Dylan Mika produced another solid effort rushing for 251 yards and four scores on only 14 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mickey Marolt, who threw for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Looking ahead, Moffat County will be playing in front of their home fans against Basalt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aspen, they are taking a road trip to take on Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 12.5 points per game this season, so the Skiers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
