Volleyball Recap: Petersburg Takes a Loss

Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Keyser Golden Tornado. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Golden Tornado when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Petersburg actually scored more points across those five sets (110-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 17-15.

Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Keyser, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Petersburg will challenge Paw Paw at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Keyser, they will face off against Berkeley Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
