Volleyball Recap: Sultana Comes Up Short at Home Against Palm Desert

Sultana unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Palm Desert Aztecs by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Sultana sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 24-26, 15-13.

Brea Whittemore paced Sultana's offense, picking up 13 kills. Whittemore got some help from Leila Pele and her 17 assists. Whittemore was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Palm Desert has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Sultana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Kaiser on the 9th. As for Palm Desert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Rialto on the 9th.
