Softball Recap: Normal University Comes Up Short

Normal University managed to slip by East Peoria the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pioneers came up short against the Raiders on Saturday, falling 14-0. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Normal University's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for East Peoria, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Normal University will take on Decatur Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.23 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Peoria, they will square off against Galesburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the Silver Streaks at the right time seeing as the Silver Streaks are stuck on a 20-game losing streak.
