Soccer Game Preview: Nooksack Valley vs. Ferndale

The Nooksack Valley Pioneers will head out to face off against the Ferndale Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nooksack Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Nooksack Valley and Squalicum, and Squalicum kept the tradition alive. The Pioneers came up short against the Storm last Thursday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Nooksack Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Squalicum are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, neither Ferndale nor Burlington-Edison could gain the upper hand last Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. That draw made it three straight for Ferndale.

With that draw, Ferndale's record moves to 1-2-5. As for Nooksack Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Nooksack Valley might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Ferndale in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
