Softball Recap: Kinder Has No Trouble Against Vinton

Kinder had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Vinton on Saturday. The Kinder Yellowjackets blew past the Vinton Lions 16-1. That looming 16-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellowjackets yet this season.

The win was the third in a row for Kinder, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Vinton, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kinder will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Louis Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on March 11th. As for Vinton, they will host Washington-Marion at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Vinton has given up an average of 15.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
