Soccer Game Preview: Clovis West vs. Buchanan

The Clovis West Golden Eagles will challenge the Buchanan Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Clovis West is headed into the game having not lost since December 16 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Clovis East onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Tuesday. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Buchanan and Central faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Tuesday. Buchanan came out on top against Central by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Bears were the better team in the second half.

Clovis West is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those seven contests. As for Buchanan, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1-2.
