Basketball Recap: Olympian Eagles vs. Madison Warhawks
Olympian won the last time they faced Madison and things went their way on Saturday too. The Olympian Eagles rang in the new year with a 53-44 win over the Madison Warhawks. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Warhawks are ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olympian found their leader in sophomore Tristan Anderson, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 26 points and eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaseen Chemsi, who posted two points and ten rebounds.
Madison's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adein Lea?E, who put up nine points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Runnar(Rj) Miller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Olympian and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Valhalla the next time they take the court. Madison will host Valhalla at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Olympian will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
