Basketball Game Preview: Poolesville Falcons vs. Magruder Colonels

The Poolesville Falcons will face off against the Magruder Colonels on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Monday, Poolesville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Northwest.

Meanwhile, Magruder didn't have quite enough to beat Watkins Mill on Monday and fell 68-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Colonels still had to take the loss.

Poolesville will have to contain Gerald Suarez as he made an impact in Magruder's last game. He went 10 of 20 on his way to 27 points and five rebounds. Leo Taylor was another key player, going 5 for 8 to rack up 15 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Magruder and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Poolesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Poolesville was able to grind out a solid victory over Magruder in their previous meeting back in January, winning 54-42. Will Poolesville repeat their success, or does Magruder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
