Basketball Recap: Istrouma Comes Up Short

Istrouma was the 54-53 winner over GEO Next Generation when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Istrouma Indians came up short against the GEO Next Generation Tigers on Wednesday, falling 56-31. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Tigers are ranked 147th).

Istrouma has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for GEO Next Generation, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Istrouma has already played their next game (against Parkview Baptist), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. GEO Next Generation will be playing in front of their home fans against Thrive Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
