Preview: Lightridge Bolts vs. Riverside Ram
Lightridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They and the Riverside Ram will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lightridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Ram are ranked 127th).
On Wednesday, Lightridge earned a 50-41 win over the Falcons.
Meanwhile, Riverside unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Potomac Falls. Riverside has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Mason Ridgeway and Johnny Opiola. Opiola had a great game and dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Ridgeway was balling out in the loss, scoring 16 points.
Lightridge's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Lightridge ended up a good deal behind the Ram in their previous matchup last Wednesday, losing 69-54. Can Lightridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
