Volleyball Recap: Westmont Takes a Loss

Westmont lost against Trinity back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sentinels fell just short of the Blazers by a score of 2-1. While the Sentinels didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blazers 25-15 in the first set.

Westmont actually scored more points across those three sets (59-55), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Kotryna Vanagas paced Westmont's offense, picking up 14 kills. Vanagas got some help from Ryley Johnson and her 22 assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Westmont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Trinity, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Westmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Parkview Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Trinity, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Timothy Christian on the 30th.
