Basketball Game Preview: Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors vs. Le Mars Bulldogs

The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Le Mars Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Decorah-North Winneshiek just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. The contest between them and the Vikings didn't end well, with Sergeant Bluff-Luton falling 77-63. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Vikings are ranked 13th).

Le Mars hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past Jefferson with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 78-62.

Le Mars' victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Sergeant Bluff-Luton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Le Mars when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 66-60 win. Will Sergeant Bluff-Luton repeat their success, or does Le Mars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
