Baseball Game Preview: Freeman Scotties vs. Asotin Panthers

For the first time this season, Freeman will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Asotin Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Freeman is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games dating back to last season on Saturday. They came up short against Chewelah, falling 16-10.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Asotin faced off against Kellogg on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Wildcats 11-1. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

CODY ELLS was incredible, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JACOB DOUGAN, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Asotin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Asotin back to even at 2-2. As for Freeman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Freeman beat Asotin 8-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Do the Scotties have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
