Volleyball Recap: Provo Falls Despite Big Games from Nevaeh Magalei and Lexi Carter

After flying high against American Fork on Saturday, Provo came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Mountain View Bruins by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Provo wouldn't go down easily and took Mountain View into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 15-25, 22-25, 15-10.

Provo's loss came despite strong showings from Lexi Carter and Nevaeh Magalei. Carter had 14 digs, while Magalei had 25 kills and 17 digs. Magalei is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 50 games she's played dating back to last season.

Provo's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Provo is set to challenge their familiar foe Uintah at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mountain View will take on rival Orem at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
