Basketball Recap: Tanner Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tanner can now relate to. They fell 68-59 to the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles on Monday. The Rattlers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Tanner lost, don't look at Matthew Fletcher. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 12 en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. Those 26 points gave Fletcher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elyjah Jones, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 14 points and seven boards.

Tanner now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-9.

Tanner is taking a road trip to challenge Cold Springs on Saturday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
