Baseball Recap: Piner Comes Up Short

Piner fell victim to Cloverdale and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 15-0. The loss leaves the Prospectors still looking for their first win of the season.

Piner's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cloverdale, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Piner will take on Montgomery at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.71 runs per game on average), something the Prospectors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cloverdale, they will square off against Fort Bragg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
