Football Game Preview: Alpena Wildcats vs. Meridian Mustangs + How To Watch

The Alpena Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Meridian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Alpena nor Meridian posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

On Friday, Alpena had to suffer through a 39-6 loss at the hands of Escanaba. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Eskymos are ranked 95th).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Meridian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Ogemaw Heights 34-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Alpena, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Alpena came up short against Meridian when the teams last played back in September of 2023, falling 26-20. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
