Basketball Game Preview: Chicago University Maroons vs. Leo Lions

The Chicago University Maroons will venture away from home to square off against the Leo Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chicago University is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Chicago University had to suffer through a 53-23 loss at the hands of Crystal Lake South. The contest marked the Maroons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Leo came up short against Marian Catholic on Tuesday and fell 52-42. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Spartans are ranked 116th).

Chicago University's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Leo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Chicago University took a serious blow against Leo in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-25. Can Chicago University avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
