Softball Recap: Atwater Wins Going Away Against Buhach Colony

Atwater won the last time they faced Buhach Colony and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 19-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Madi Hiler, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Armando, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Atwater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Atwater and bumps their season record up to 20-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Buhach Colony, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Atwater will square off against Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. Buhach Colony does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
