Basketball Game Preview: Erie Tigers vs. Mead Mavericks

Erie and Mead are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Erie Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Mead Mavericks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Erie sitting on three straight wins and Mead on five.

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Erie beat Poudre 35-29.

Erie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Greenlee, who posted 13 points and three blocks. Greenlee is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliet Slater, who had 13 points.

Meanwhile, Mead beat Mullen 47-37 on Thursday. The 47-point effort marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Erie pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Mead, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Erie came up short against Mead in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 55-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mead's Darby Haley, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 22 points.
