Baseball Game Preview: Upper Dublin Cardinals vs. Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials

For the second straight game, Upper Dublin will face off against Plymouth Whitemarsh. Upper Dublin will take on Plymouth Whitemarsh at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Upper Dublin's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Plymouth Whitemarsh's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Upper Dublin fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Colonials by a score of 5-4. The loss was the Cardinals' first of the season.

For Plymouth Whitemarsh's part, they got a great performance from Jake Rauscher as he pitched eight innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Rauscher has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Gabe Caucci was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Heincer, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Upper Dublin fell to 2-1-1. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
