Basketball Recap: Oconto Takes a Loss

If Oconto was riding high fresh off their 70-18 takedown of Peshtigo last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oconto Blue Devils fell 55-43 to the Sevastopol Pioneers on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now lost three in a row.

Oconto's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Sevastopol, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Oconto and Sevastopol should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Oconto (ranked 154th) will meet Southern Door (ranked 403rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sevastopol will challenge Peshtigo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 150 places (111 vs. 261).
