Soccer Game Preview: Episcopal of Acadiana vs. North Vermilion

The Episcopal of Acadiana Falcons will head out to take on the North Vermilion Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Episcopal of Acadiana's offense. They fell 2-0 to Lakeshore on Saturday. The loss was the Falcons' first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Vermilion, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Tara on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Patriots were the better team in the second half.

North Vermilion is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Episcopal of Acadiana, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Episcopal of Acadiana beat North Vermilion by a goal in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Episcopal of Acadiana since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
