Baseball Recap: Lucerne Valley Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Lucerne Valley and Victor Valley Christian, and Victor Valley Christian kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs lost 14-3 to the Royals on Wednesday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Lucerne Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raul Gonzalez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Leon Willoughby, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Lucerne Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Victor Valley Christian, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lucerne Valley beat the Royals by a score of 11-6 on Friday.
