Space Coast is 1-9 against Heritage since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Space Coast Vipers will look to defend their home field against the Heritage Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Space Coast is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Space Coast will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Cocoa on Thursday. Space Coast blew past Cocoa 23-1. The win continues a trend for the Vipers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Kole Gamble made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Thomas, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Space Coast's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Joseph Henry, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Space Coast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 11.4.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Friday. Heritage had just enough and edged out Gateway 3-1.
Andrew Francisco was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrial Diaz Lopez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. The victory got Space Coast back to even at 5-5.
