Basketball Recap: New Bern Christian Academy Snags 15th Victory in Last 17 Games

New Bern Christian Academy won the last time they faced Christ Covenant and things went their way on Tuesday too. New Bern Christian Academy walked away with a 60-47 victory over the Christ Covenant Spartans. Given New Bern Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Christ Covenant is ranked 530th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loss or not, Christ Covenant got some senior leadership from Noah Stein and JD Dill. Stein posted 23 points and six rebounds, while Dill dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Stein's sixth in a row with at least ten points.

New Bern Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Christ Covenant, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-12.

New Bern Christian Academy will take on Gramercy Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christ Covenant, they will face off against Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christ Covenant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season.
