Baseball Recap: Thompson Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Thompson Valley barely beat Wellington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Thompson Valley's pitcher stepped up to hand Wellington a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 last Thursday.

Evan Raabe made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Beau Heaton was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Amari Richardson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Thompson Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Thompson Valley moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Wellington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Thompson Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-6 defeat against Sterling on the 25th. As for Wellington, they have also already played their next match, a 6-3 loss against Forest Grove on the 20th.
