Football Recap: Cloudland Comes Up Short

If Cloudland was riding high fresh off their 60-20 takedown of Hancock County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highlanders were beaten by the Middlesboro Yellowjackets 46-14 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 319th in Tennessee, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 106th in Kentucky).

Cloudland's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Middlesboro, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Cloudland is taking a road trip to take on Jellico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Middlesboro, they will host Lynn Camp at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Yellowjackets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
