Softball Recap: Marshall Tigers vs. Worthington Trojans
Marshall never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Worthington on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Worthington Trojans as they made off with a 12-2 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Marshall has managed all season.
Harley Beek made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Beek was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Brielle Riess and Claire Allen did most of the damage at the plate: Riess went 5-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Allen scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.
