Soccer Game Preview: Ballantyne Ridge vs. South Mecklenburg

The Ballantyne Ridge Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the South Mecklenburg Sabres at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ballantyne Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Ballantyne Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Palisades 10-1 on Thursday. Julia Freeman was a massive factor in the win as she booted in five goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, South Mecklenburg kept a clean sheet against Ardrey Kell on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Knights 1-0. The win was all the more spectacular given South Mecklenburg's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Ardrey Kell are ranked 12th).

South Mecklenburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four games. The win made it two in a row for Ballantyne Ridge and bumps their season record up to 7-6.
