Preview: Tioga Tigers vs. Stillwater Warriors
The Tioga Tigers will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Stillwater Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Tioga knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Stillwater likes a good challenge.
Tioga extended their postseason success on Friday against Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 63-16 victory over the Wolfpack. Considering Tioga has won 12 games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Drew Macumber, who rushed for 234 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Macumber has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Bellis, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Stillwater came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Haldane by a score of 21-14.
Jaxon Mueller was his usual excellent self, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Tioga to 13-0 and Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama to 11-1.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Tioga has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 298 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Stillwater struggles in that department as they've been averaging 271.8 per game. It's looking like Saturday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
