Basketball Recap: Deke Thompson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Charles Page over Union

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Charles Page can now relate to. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union Redhawks. The Sandites have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Several Sandites players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deke Thompson, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. Thompson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kooper Kelly, who had 12 points.

Charles Page's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Union, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Charles Page does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union, they will face off against Norman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norman will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Union surely won't give up without a fight.
