Softball Recap: Klahowya Drops Highest Score of Season Against Vashon Island

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Klahowya). They blew past the Vashon Island Pirates 24-3 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won nine in a row.

Sydney Washington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Hart was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Mckenna Sullivan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Klahowya hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vashon Island struck out ten times.

Klahowya's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-8-1. As for Vashon Island, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Klahowya beat the Pirates by a score of 24-2 later that day.
