Softball Recap: Mulberry Grove Aces vs. Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians
Mulberry Grove kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians by a score of 7-5. The Aces haven't had much luck with the Indians/Lady Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Taylor Stone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Lola Johnson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
The victory got Carlyle back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mulberry Grove will face off against Farina South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Carlyle, they will challenge Father McGivney Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Carlyle has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
