Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Panthers vs. McKinney Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Princeton Panthers face off against the McKinney Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday... Princeton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Princeton took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Plano with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, McKinney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat. They were beaten by Allen 45-11. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

McKinney's loss dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Princeton, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Princeton against McKinney in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 73-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Princeton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
