Basketball Game Preview: New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners vs. Cimarron Rams

New Mexico School for the Deaf is 0-3 against Cimarron since November of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners are taking a road trip to take on the Cimarron Rams at 6:30 p.m.

New Mexico School for the Deaf is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 61-39 to Wagon Mound. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while the Trojans are ranked 133rd).

Meanwhile, Cimarron waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They pulled ahead with an 80-79 photo finish over the Bears.

Cimarron's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for New Mexico School for the Deaf, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Things could have been worse for New Mexico School for the Deaf, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Cimarron in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Can New Mexico School for the Deaf avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
