Baseball Game Preview: Cox Mill Chargers vs. Charlotte Latin Hawks

The Cox Mill Chargers will take on the Charlotte Latin Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cox Mill has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with nine straight losses, while Charlotte Latin will come in with 13 straight wins.

Things were looking good for Cox Mill after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 14-4 to Providence Day.

Braden Greene made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Latin earned a 7-2 victory over Mallard Creek on Tuesday.

Charlotte Latin also got a great performance from Jackson Coble as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Coble has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Avery Booker was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Hudson Shoup was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Cox Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Charlotte Latin, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Cox Mill hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Charlotte Latin struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs.
